Glass Furnace - RegeneratorGlass
The regenerator in a glass furnace is a device designed to store the heat of high-temperature exhaust gases generated by burner combustion and preheat the combustion air for the next cycle. It plays a critical role in improving thermal efficiency during the glass melting process.
Structure and Temperature Range of the Regenerator
| Structure | Temperature Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Upper Gas Dome Area | 1,200–1,400℃ | Directly exposed to flames and high-temperature gases. |
| Checker Block Area (Middle Zone) | 1,000–1,300℃ | Responsible for storing and releasing heat. Faces combined effects of thermal shock and chemical corrosion during alternating cycles. |
| Lower Flue Area and Air Inlet | 800–1,000℃ | Low-temperature zone, primarily facing challenges such as thermal shock and dust deposition. |
Examples of Refractory Applications
| Part | Main Refractory Used | Properties |
|---|---|---|
| ①Upper Gas Dome Area | Silica brick, alumina-zircon brick, high-alumina brick | Heat resistance, thermal shock resistance, resistance to Na vapor corrosion |
| ②Checker Blocks | Magnesia brick, Magnesia-spinel brick, high-alumina brick | High heat storage capacity (specific heat & thermal conductivity), volume stability, thermal shock resistance, chemical stability (resistance to Na₂O, Cl, SOx) |
| ③Sidewalls | High-alumina brick, silica brick | Chemical stability (resistance to Na₂O, Cl, SOx), prevention of peeling |
| ④Bottom Area | High-alumina brick | Strength and durability, resistance to thermal shock |
